No Yeast Pizza


Here I have a very simple recipe for pizza that is easy and almost effortless.

See, I was craving for some pizza the other day so I decided to make some. Most pizza recipes require yeast, for that thick and fluffy crust that everyone loves. Unfortunately, that is the one key ingredient I do not have in my pantry.

Therefore, I googled like crazy before I finally found a solution. Yeast is usually replaced by a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice. These are options for people who are yeast intolerant. It isn’t as thick and fluffy as a normal crust but it’s perfect in a way that it doesn’t make you feel overly full after consumption. Which is pretty much perfect for me.

(Pizza base)
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp salt
2/3 cup water (warm)
2 tbsp olive oil

(Toppings) – you can put whatever you like. I used the only things I had in my fridge at the time.
1 green pepper, sliced
2 cups mozzarella cheese
3 sausages, sliced
6 olives, sliced
1 bottle Prego sauce
Chilli flakes

* If you have proper pizza sauce, please use that instead.

This recipe makes two 8-inch pizzas. Or you could make one 12-inch pizza if you do not split up the dough like I did.

Mix all of the pizza base ingredients into a mixing bowl. Use your hands to stir and mix until the dough starts to form. Roll all the remaining dough into a ball.

Knead, knead, knead, and knead for about 5-10 minutes.

Lightly flour a wooden cutting board or surface and place your ball of dough. Start kneading the dough until it is even, and has a good doughy texture. Then you can either split the dough to make two mini pizzas or keep it as one for a bigger pizza.

Roll the dough into a ball and transfer it onto a non-stick pan. Place it in the middle and start pressing it out, flattening it towards the corners of the pan.

Once the dough is flat and evenly spread out, spread a layer of sauce evenly onto the surface. Next, add on a layer of mozzarella. Follow that with your toppings and another layer of cheese.


Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F) for 10 minutes before putting your pizza in. Leave it to bake for 15-20 minutes.

Pop it out and there you have your own personal pan pizza. Add on a sprinkle of chill flakes and you’re good to go. 🙂 Enjoy!
